Taylor Swift makes history by becoming the first woman to win the Brit’s Global Icon Award.
The 2021 BRIT Awards was held on May 12 at O2 Arena with some incredible performances of many artists. Artists including Coldplay, The Weeknd, Dua Lipa, and Olivia Rodrigo performed their top hits at the event.
Taylor Swift has become a global superstar for the past couple of years, albums like Folklore and Evermore have made her career uprising worldwide. Folklore became the Top-selling US album in 2020. Now the 31-year-old American singer has won the Global Icon Award for the first time as a non-British woman. Previously won by Robbie Williams, Elton John, and David Bowie.

During the award acceptance speech, Taylor addressed the upcoming artists who watch the event. She said: “I need you to hear me when I say that there is no career path that comes free of negativity.
“If you’re being met with resistance, that probably means that you’re doing something new. If you’re experiencing turbulence or pressure, that probably means you’re rising.
“And there might be times when you put your whole heart and soul into something, and it is met with cynicism or skepticism. You cannot let that crush you; you have to let it fuel you.”
