Jack Sherman died at the age of 64. Red Hot Chili Peppers confirmed it on Friday, Aug 21 through social media. However, the reason for death not revealed yet.
“We of the RHCP family would like to wish Jack Sherman smooth sailing into the worlds beyond, for he has passed,” the band wrote on Instagram.
Further they continued, “Jack played on our debut album as well as our first tour of the USA. He was a unique dude and we thank him for all times good, bad and in between. Peace on the boogie platform.”
Jack Sherman joined the band replacing Hillel Slovak, who is a founding member. Sherman, a part of the band’s self-titled debut album.
Jack also worked with other artists like Bob Dylan and George Clinton after he left the band. Chili Peppers was chosen to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012. But Jack Sherman couldn’t be a part of it.
At the same time period, Jack Sherman joined an interview with Billboard. He said, “It’s really painful to see all this celebrating going on and be excluded.”
Jack Sherman died, but his soul may rest in peace.
