Dua Lipa paid tribute to Lorde during a performance in New Zealand.
Dua Lipa who currently doing her Radical Optimism Tour in New Zealand gave a surprise performance to the audience as a tribute to the country’s biggest pop icon Lorde. The ‘Radical Optimism’ hitmaker performed a cover of Lorde’s top hit ‘Royals’ on Wednesday (April 2).
In the video, the Albanian singer was dressed up in a glamorous black outfit with a fuzzy white shawl on top of it. “We’re bigger than we ever dreamed, and I’m in love with being queen,” Dua Lipa sings alongside beautiful harmonies by her backup singers. “And we’ll never be royals/ It don’t run in our blood/ That kind of luxe just ain’t for us/ We crave a different kind of buzz.”
“Let me be your ruler/ You can call me queen bee,” she continued. The feedback from the crowd was amazing, they sing the lyrics alongside with the singer.
Meanwhile, Dua Lipa updated new Tour dates on her official X account. On April 1, she wrote: “good things come to those who wait…. NEW TOUR DATES ADDED |!!| Finishing the year with the Radical Optimism tour in Latin America and I’m so so excited to see you.”
